Legal & food-safety information
HARVEST TO HANDCRAFTED
Important: Draft for legal review. This page is designed as a plain-language informational notice for an internationally accessible application. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and must not be represented as globally enforceable terms. Mandatory consumer protections and local laws take precedence.
1. Educational information, not professional certification
Smallgoods Lab offers recipes, formulation calculations, butchery references, estimated guidance and source links for general education. It is not veterinary, medical, food-safety, legal, inspection or professional butchery advice. A linked source, recipe label or calculation is not a warranty of safety, suitability or regulatory compliance.
2. Food-safety risks
Raw meat and meat preservation can expose users and others to pathogens, parasites, toxins, allergens and unsafe chemical concentrations. Curing, fermentation, cold smoking, drying and shelf-stable processing require properly validated recipes and processes, suitable equipment, accurate measurements and controls appropriate to the product. Do not rely on an automatically scaled formula alone to assess food safety.
Where the application labels a recipe as held, partial, unverified, experimental or awaiting review, those materials are not approved production instructions. Consult qualified local authorities or competent professionals when uncertain, especially before serving vulnerable people or selling food.
3. Hunting, slaughter, animal welfare and commercial use
You are responsible for complying with applicable hunting permissions, species and season restrictions, firearm laws, humane treatment and slaughter rules, meat inspection requirements, traceability, transport, waste disposal, food handling, labelling and sale restrictions. Home-processed or wild-harvested meat may be restricted to personal use or prohibited from commercial sale depending on where you live.
4. Use of tools and quantities
Weights and yields depend on accurate user input. The application may contain errors, omissions, outdated sources or differences between regional terminology and ingredients. Verify all ingredients, measurement standards, equipment settings, cooking temperatures and process controls independently. Schematic cut maps are orientation aids, not anatomical instructions or substitutes for practical training.
5. Third-party recipes and links
Names, recipes, pictures and references may belong to their original authors or publishers. Source attribution does not imply endorsement or partnership. External links and their content are controlled by their publishers. Do not copy or commercially redistribute third-party material without appropriate rights.
6. Availability and local data
The application may change or be interrupted, and locally stored favourites, checklists and harvest records can be lost if browser data is cleared or a device is changed. Export important records and keep independent food safety and traceability records where required.
7. Liability and mandatory rights
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Smallgoods Lab is provided on an “as available” basis without voluntary warranties about completeness, uninterrupted access or suitability for particular processing activities. Nothing in this notice excludes, limits or modifies any consumer rights, remedies or legal responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded. Liability limitations and enforceable contract terms require jurisdiction-specific legal review and identification of the responsible operator.
8. Location-specific rules
Rules differ by country, state, province and local authority and may change. No single legal notice supersedes those rules. Verify current requirements with your relevant government or regulator. Before commercial launch, the operator should obtain legal review for the places where the service is offered.
9. Contact and operator details
The operator's legal identity, contact details, governing law, dispute process and any paid-service terms must be completed before a public commercial launch. This prototype does not yet present approved contractual terms.
